Hi bloggers…..

Today I´m gonna spend this afternoon to tell all my readers about 3ashoura.

The Battle of Karbala took place on ´Muharram 10, in the year 61 of the Islamic calendar (October 9 or 10, 680) in Karbala, in present day Iraq. On one side were supporters and reltives of El nabi mu7ammad´s grandson, Imam Al Hussein Ibn Ali and on the other side there were the forces of Yazid. The armed forces was led by umar ibn saad. There were many women and children with al Imam Al Hussain like setna zeinab and tofl el radi3. Yazid chose to use the state power to first deny access to water and food for three days to Husayn and his family including women and children, even to an infant lillte baby ( tofl el radi3).  The reason why this war broke out was because Yazid wanted all the power to himslef (ell wileye) but according to Allah rab el 3alamin, el wileye couldn´t be his beacuse he was a cruel man . From the beggining Prophet Mohammed sallallah3alayhi oally said that after him imam el 3ali would be the grreat leader because Imam 3ali was a great man and a nobel person. In the qur2an Islam´s holy book it is written that the person that will take the wilewe (the leadership of islam) after el nabih will be a person who in his salat (pray) will give a sadaka to a poor person. And this event has only occured one and only one time in history and that person was Imam al 3ali, father of imam al hassan o al imam al hussain.  And the legmicity would therefore be Imam al hussein´s because God the allmighty wanted that. But Imam al hussein didn´t want to give the legacy to yazid. He and his followers were killed by the forces of Yazid during the first day battle in Karbala. The captured women were tortured, mocked and made an example of. In the end though, these women, through their speeches were able to turn the tables on Yazid. The battle of Husayn ibn Ali is commemorated during an annual 10-day period held every Muharram by the Shi’ah.

Today, many years have passed by but the events of Karbalaa2 still remains alive in our hearts, minds and mostly our actions. We must remember ahlulbayt and Imam al hussein and his followers and relatives in every step that we take. When drinking water think of tufl el radi3 who was neglected water. Can you believe how cruel one person can be, Yazid is that person and every person that stood by his side. Not only did they neglect the infant child water but they murdered him cold bloodedly, how awful.

Here are the events that took place in Karbala22….

Death of the infant son of Hussain

Imam al Hussain took Ali al-Asghar towards the enemy camp and cried out, “Is there anyone who can give some water to my thirsty child?”. Hussain didn’t literally want water for his son, but wanted to show the world cruelty of Yazid. The rival army sent a best archer, Hurmula, who killed Ali al-Asghar, (six-month-old baby), by shooting an arrow which penetrated his neck. After he returned to the tents, Imam Husayn had made a small grave for Ali al-Asghar behind the tents with his sword, Imam Husayn had no water to make the grave wet, but there was enough tears shed by Imam Husayn that the grave became very wet. Imam al Hussein ibn 3ali, killed everybody that fought him in single battles. He demonstrated extreme courage and bravery, forced the enemy into retreat frequently and killed a great number of opponents but in the end the was murdered by Yazid´s forces.

And so, here is today´s advice to all my readers……

Mourn ahlulbayt and all the people killed during the events of Karbalaa and ahlulbayt´s followers and relatives that stood by Imam al Huseein´s side and didn´t leave him, knowing that they would die. Go to every majles held for 3ashoura2 and grieve ahlulbayt because they did what they did so the legacy of Islam would be kept holy and pure.

It is really something, when it snows, sooo freaking beautiful.

Snow is really exhilarating and when it snows it beautifies everything that it covers. Standing now ouside my window, seeing the snowflakes dropping down fron the heavenly sky, reminds me of the good old times that I remember from my childhood. So I thought to myself why not creating new memories and so I decided to go back in time and to be a child once again……

Martin Luthor King, Jr

Four days ago, something happend to one of my sister´s closest friend. She was hit by six girls who attacked her for being an immigrant. This was trully a racialist act from the six girls. This got me thinking of the country that I´m living in. A country where such a thing can occur and while this girl got hit, not a single person did anything. This also got me thinking of Martin Luthor King, JR and I want to tribute him.

Mr. King was a prominent leader in the African- American civil rights movement. In 1964 he became the youngest person to recieve a Nobel Peace Prize for his acts. In 1963 he delivered a speech , a speech which people remember til today and a speech that stands for equelness, hope and faith. Mr. Luthor King held a speech that will live on forever and ever. IT will live to eternity. “I Have a Dream“  is the speech that he delivered and in which he called for racial equality and an end to discrimination.

I Have A dream ( a part of his great speech)

Let us not wallow in the valley of despair, I say to you today, my friends.

And so even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream.

I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.”

I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia, the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood.

I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a state sweltering with the heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.

I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.

I have a dream today!

I have a dream that one day, down in Alabama, with its vicious racists, with its governor having his lips dripping with the words of “interposition” and “nullification” — one day right there in Alabama little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers.

I have a dream today!

I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, and every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight; “and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed and all flesh shall see it together.”2

This is our hope, and this is the faith that I go back to the South with.

Reached bottom……

It wasn´t until yesterday, that something hit me, like a streak. I reached bottom and in a way I don´t know what really happened. from nowhere, I started crying like a baby girl, for almost an hour, til a point where I no longer could breathe. And the weird thing was that the day was really a good day and suddenly I saw myself crying for no reason. It was like memories from the past that came to the surface to haunt me. While crying my mum had to calm me down and she said something to me something that i will remember forever and something that i will carry with me through time and time…it is something that i will tell my children (to be hehe) and their children. So I decided to share the conversation with you…….

Mama:Are you ok?

Me: No, soo far from that

Mama: then what´s wrong?

Me: I don´t know?

Mama: ok, have you broken anything, your leg or yor hand?

Me: Noo!

Mama: well, are you living in the street and you don´t have any money?

I was suprised and i thought to myself what was the point with all of this?and I answered her

Me: no, ofcourse not, I always get what I want.

Mama: well maybe, do you have a disease?

And i thought again to myself that she knows that i don´t, so why asking?

Me: no, why are you asking these kind of questions?

She didn´t answer my questions, saying….

Mama: well, can you see? Can you hear?

Me: eh ofcourse (answering in a chocking way)

And while asking me all of these questions, I started to breathe again normally and i calmed down…..and then my mother said something to me…..

Mama: are you ok then?

And then it hit me like a lightening, i was really oki, what was the problem, I should be thankful to God for creating me healthy and for having my family near me, what was my problem? And so I decided to be a new person,For every step that I take and make and for every breathe I have I will be thankful.
